Social Initiatives
Maintain a Healthy Social Life
The Unique Variations Foundation helps those with albinism retain and maintain a healthy social life by providing initiatives. We also inform the public and raise awareness about albinism. The latter is one of our main focuses because it assists our impacted community members and the area at large when it comes to acceptance. By educating the general public, we can help curate a better environment built around tolerance and interaction. We also help individuals utilize their strengths and build up their confidence. If you have further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff about helping you or your loved one.
Albinism Social Initiatives From Unique Variations Foundation
Helping our individuals build their confidence in social interactions allows them to become much more than their condition. The albinism social initiatives we have created emphasize the unique individual. There are no two people affected with albinism the same. Each requires special attention based on the severity of albinism and other outside factors. For instance, our founders helped their son, Josh, with his golf game by getting him a spotter as he swings and different colored balls to help him see them better after he hits. By strengthening his confidence in the game, he can play with his classmates recreationally. He even joined his school’s team. We create a social network for these individuals to rely on.
Demystifying Albinism in the Public Eye
By offering the public information and resources about albinism, we can work together to deconstruct some of the myths surrounding the condition and what it means to have it. Knowing the symptoms of albinism and what our community has to deal with daily will give the public a deeper appreciation of what we are capable of as a community. By building this sympathetic bridge, we can work together to create a world of understanding.
